In an effort to minimize textile waste generated from our production, Pearly Wong and team have conducted this CSR initiative with the children from Yayasan Sunbeams Home and Rumah Charis in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Unusable fabric scraps from Pearly Wong studio were recycled and made into accessories and handicrafts by the children.

As part of Pearly Wong Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for 2016, a recycling program scope entails reusing, upcycling and recycling the textile waste through arts and crafts project was introduced to two orphanages in Kuala Lumpur. All the scraps of fabric that are no longer usable for production are collected for this project instead of disposing them in to the land waste. This is an effort to eliminate textile waste that goes in the land fills every year – Each year, 21 billion pounds of textile waste goes into landfills, occupying more than 5% of all landfill space.
